Academic Projects

Brand Management and Positioning

Marketing Senior Seminar. Students address the tasks that constitute modern marketing management, including: driving the company's mission, vision and strategic plan, capturing marketing insights and performance, connecting with customers, shaping marketing offerings, and delivering and communicating value.

For our final project my teammate Donna Rwabuhemba and I repositioned FOREVER21 in the fashion retail market.

By cultivating primary research to create a strategy for repositioning within their target market, we suggested 4 strategic pillars combined with strong creative avenues to implement a new marketing strategy, an improved store layout and targeted product offering, a stronger online platform, and a sustainability program to reposition the brand to an updated market, improve brand perception, and drive sales.

Marketing Research and Analytics

The emphasis of this course is developing research skills to solve realistic marketing strategy problems. We discuss topics pertaining to the systematic and objective identification, collection, analysis, dissemination, and use of information.

Students apply their knowledge in a realistic simulated business situation (Markstrat) where students have opportunities to make data driven decisions to fun the firm and compete with their classmates over the semester.

My final presentation walks you through my simulated firm’s progress throughout the semester, how I managed my firm, my product offering and how each product played a role in the market, what decisions I made to compete with the other firms in my round, and a breakdown of the data provided and how I used to it make business decisions.

My firm finished top of my round and 2nd in the class overall.

Web Programming

This course teaches Internet history and its architecture, managing an account on a Web server, HTML markup, use of style sheets (CSS), page layout design, introduction to interactive programming with JavaScript, the document object model (DOM), and HTML forms. Our semesters work lead up to the creation of the Final Project.
